{summer fun}

Whooo! Happy late memorial day! <3 I spent the weekend working (40% off the whole store brings a lot of costumers. And the better part of Monday eating, sleeping, and swimming. Altogether it was an absolutely glorious weekend.

I spent today with my cousin, first a little trip to the mall and then to a fabulous coffee lab in Old Town, where we ate and played a very competitive game of scrabble. That was a lie, we didn't even keep score overall another wonderful day of summer. With many more to come. xD



Have you guys met my child? I don't think so. ^That lovely dachshund is my pup Chloe. She's honestly the sweetest thing and ran up to me while I was taking pictures. In this particular shot she decided to randomly dig both of her back legs into my side. I think she might be a bit camera shy. xD

{my week with marilyn}

Unfortunately I missed out on seeing this movie when it was in theatres. So, I had to wait patiently for the movei to come out on video. It was only just recently that I had the wonderful joy of watching it with my friend a few weekends ago. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. If you don't believe me. Here's some pretty eyecandy:



They Eddie Redmayne plays the very handsome and naive Colin Clark, in this film. The chemistry between him and Michelle Williams (Marilyn) is perfection. Not to mention that Michelle's portrayal of Marilyn is spot on, honestly I don't have the words to adequately describe how capturing she was as this character. I believed every absurd word that came out of her mouth as pure sincerity.
I won't give much away, but I will say that there wasn't a bad actor in sight. Judi Dench (a long time favorite of mine) delivered her role with the genuine and sweetness of a lady, the same goes for Emma Watson. Although, it's still going to take a while not to immediately think Hermione! every time I see her face on camera. If you haven't had a chance to see the movie. Go. Stop what you're doing and watch it. It is rated R for some Marilyn booty and a few curse words, so if that's a turn off, you've been warned. ;)

{fifteen weird things}

1. What's a nickname only your family calls you? My mama calls me Deannalinda, or Deannasita, it's a spanish thing. ;) My dad used to call be booboo, but he hasn't done that in a while.

2. What's a weird habit of yours? Nail biting and lip gnawing... it needs to stop! Oh, also! I sing, all the time, without even noticing.

3. Do you have any weird phobias? To be completely honest I'm kind of afraid of the dark. xD

4. What's a song you secretly love to blast and belt out when you're alone? I've always prided myself in having impeccable taste in music so this confession may hurt my pride.... here we go. Boyfriend! There I said it, I like to listen to the biebs.

5. What's one of your biggest pet peeves? When girls make boys do tasks for them just because they can... also when people don't say thank you.

6. What's one of your nervous habits? Playing with my hair, and laughing. Yeah, I'm the nervous giggler don't judge.

7. What side of the bed do you sleep on? Side? You mean the whole bed isn't just for me?... Awk. ;)

8. What was your first stuffed animal and it's name? A bear, named Rosie, and I still got her.

9. What's the drink you always order at Starbucks? Iced coffee, extra shot of espresso, no sweetener, 2% milk. xD

10. What's a beauty rule you preach, but never actually practice. Uh... None? XD I don't really practice or preach beauty rules... lolol.

11. Which way do you face in the shower? I actually have this thing where I turn around in the shower until I get dizzy... then I face away from the water. Is that weird? Nah.

12. Do you have any weird body skills? My elbows hyper extend.

13. What's your favorite comfort food that's "bad", but you love to eat it anyways? Chocolate Ganache, I have made myself bowls and eaten the entire thing on numerous occasion... Also ramen, I love me some ramen.

14. What's a phrase or exclamation you always say? "Awk." I use it alll the time.

15. Time to sleep, what are you actually wearing? Nothing Some shirt, tank, and sweat pants, or boxer shorts. Real classy, yo.

16. What did you use to wear that you thought was cool but now you realize it wasn't that hot? Everything. Striped socks up to my knees, the skinniest jeans you've ever seen. I used to where the vest that made my boobs look HUUUGE every day... yeah. We got rid of that vest.

{schools out for the summer}

Hola!! So, schools out! You know what that means? Blogging galore! I really want to get back into the habit of blogging at least three times a week. Except I probably just jinxed myself by saying that. Anyways, I've had a really fabulous first few days of summer, and I'm really excited to blog about all the fun summer plans I've got in store! -eek!-
But here's is the first official outfit post of the summer. So very appropriately it's full of summer colors... Not.

There really are not that many outfit details for this post. Everything was thrifted except the denim shirt is from American Eagle 2012.

{thoughts on life}

It's a strange feeling, being almost done with highschool, and taking college classes. It's like I've got a foot in two different dimensions. Finding time to blog has gotten ridiculously hard. I'm starting to devise a bit of a plan, a schedule if you will. I had one, but then school started and you know how that goes...

I guess I just feel the need to process this ending chapter in my life. Growing up is just a phenomenon to me. You never realize that it's happening until you look back and compare who you were to who you are. There are times when I look at the road ahead and I can't wait to go. Leave home, start my own life. but sometimes there's that insatiable urge to never grow up. If only I could find the second star to the right and straight on till morning. If only Neverland existed.

The idea of saying goodbye to my friends, is terrifying. These people have influenced me, and loved me in ways I am eternally thankful for.

Of course I know... "This is not the end" No, it's not. Only, sometimes if feels that way. Yet,among the apprehension, joy, excitement, and of course fear, I feel thankful. Thankful that I have hope, I have optimism, that the world is filled with beautiful things and beautiful people. Thankful for a God that would rather die than live without me. Thankful that that God created me, thought me up, knows me better than my limited conscious could know or recognize myself. Thankful that the world is sprinkled with kindred spirits, artists. There is so much good in the world, I can't bare to forget it.

So. Here's to the kids of my generation. According to facebook even our peers are "disappointed" with us. Let's prove them wrong.
